The Corner
You've Known

Navy trim, white tablecloths through the glass, and the name lettered across the window — Garibaldi's reads as exactly what it is from the sidewalk. The door stays propped open most evenings; the room inside does the rest.

The Neighborhood
Standard-Bearer

Garibaldi's has anchored the corner of Presidio Avenue and Sacramento for more than three decades, which in San Francisco restaurant years is close to permanence. It is the definition of a neighborhood restaurant: white tablecloths but no stiffness, a bar that fills with regulars at five, and a room that handles a birthday, a business lunch, and a Tuesday with a toddler equally well.

The kitchen cooks California-Mediterranean — seasonal produce, Italian technique, generous portions. The menu changes around the seasons, but a handful of dishes are effectively permanent because the dining room would revolt otherwise. Chief among them is the Chicken Milanese, pounded thin, fried crisp, and topped with a mound of dressed greens.

Lunch runs weekdays and is one of the better midday sit-downs in the neighborhood. Dinner runs seven nights, later on weekends than most of Presidio Heights. Takeout and delivery are available if you'd rather eat the tagliatelle at home.

What Regulars Order

The seasonal menu turns over through the year, but these are the dishes that define the room. Current pricing is on the restaurant's own menu and online ordering page.

Menus are seasonal and prices change; this page lists signature and recurring dishes rather than a fixed carte. See garibaldisrestaurant.com or the online ordering menu for current items and pricing.

Local Guidance

01

Happy Hour Is Bar-Only

The 5–6pm pricing applies in the bar area, not at dining room tables. Arrive right at five to get a seat on a Friday.

02

Portions Are Generous

This is not a small-plates restaurant. Two starters between four people is usually plenty before the mains land.

03

Good With Families

Earlier dinner seatings are comfortably family-friendly — one of the reasons it has kept a multi-generational local following.

04

Reserve on Weekends

Weeknights are often walk-in-able; Friday and Saturday are not. Book ahead through OpenTable or by phone.
